MEDIA RELEASE

On Tuesday 3 July the 2018 MentorMe™ program hits the halfway point, for the JCI Illawarra and Leadership Illawarra Program (LIP) cohorts.  The evening will feature a keynote from Nicki Bowman, speaker, author, facilitator, covering an angle on leadership that is not always thought of!

The JCI MentorMe™ is a structed mentoring program designed to establish links between experienced professionals within the Illawarra and JCI Illawarra members.  Illawarra leaders from a range of industries act as mentors, guiding mentees through their career journeys and equipping them with the skills they need to thrive as young professionals and future leaders in the community.

“MentorMe is a fantastic opportunity for not only mentees to learn and grow, but also for mentors to give back and share their wisdom” says Debra Murphy, CEO of RDA Illawarra. “I have personally felt pride at the success of my mentees, and love it when I get feedback on how well things are going in their careers”.

JCI Australia National President Sarah Lisle, is excited to watch these relationships grow and support the next generation of leaders within the Illawarra.  Sarah said “Collaboration is key for the future, especially for growing our leaders of the Illawarra and it is great to see the JCI Illawarra and LIP collaboration flourish into a second year.  This year has also seen several LIP participants move from being a mentee to a mentor to JCI Illawarra participants, which is fantastic for their individual leadership growth.”

The JCI Illawarra MentorMe™ program is fast becoming recognized as a highly-valued experience for all participants, enriching the lives of both mentees and mentors.
