Joanna Kubota

Joanna has extensive experience in export and trade-related roles helping Australian firms to expand overseas, including a role with Austrade as the Australian Consul and Trade Commissioner for Hokkaido, Japan. 

Joanna moved to Shellharbour and established business consulting company, Global Solutions Strategies, in 2006. As a Director of that company, she worked closely with over 650 SMEs in the Illawarra region assisting them to improve and expand their business and has provided assistance to Federal, State and local governments by acting as their Small Business Specialist/Lead Consultant for high growth business programs such as Economic Gardening and Biz Booster.

Also, as Founding Mentor/Adviser, she provides ongoing mentoring and coaching services to the residents of the iAccelerate Hub; an IT incubator set up and run by the University of Wollongong in 2012, as well as delivering Sales and Marketing lectures.  Joanna has a wealth of experience helping firms better understand their markets and opportunities, wherever they may be, and is able to identify each firm’s competitive advantage and hence the most appropriate marketing mix to promote themselves effectively. With her motto being “Above all, your success”, she focuses strongly on achieving results.

In her current role as Executive Director of The Parks, Sydney's Parkland Councils, Joanna is responsible for supporting eight Councils to plan, implement, monitor and report on agreed priority outcomes and facilitate collaboration across all three levels of government to deliver the vision for the Western Parkland City.

Since moving to the Illawarra, a region she has come to love, she has become determined to work with and assist the people here using her internationally gained high-level business experience and professional skills to contribute innovative strategies and solutions to the RDA Board.
