RDAI presented to the Senate Committee on the future of Australia's aged care sector workforce in Wollongong on 6 March 2017. RDAI provided three key messages:

  • Government can help portray a positive image of the      industry, using appropriate language and emphasising vocational and      professional diversity and economic impact.
  • Unlock the gate between supply and demand by      encouraging workforce participation by groups currently underrepresented      in the industry (eg mature males and youth).

The aged care workforce and growth of the industry is important for its impact on regional communities, particularly those transitioning from manufacturing or mining activity.
