Benefits to Members and Sponsors

The continued growth of the small business sector is vital to the long-term health of the Illawarra economy. The Wollongong Small Business Club is an important part of our small business strategy along with RDA Illawarra's Economic Gardening program that assists very small businesses to grow and become more sustainable, thus employing more local people.

Did you know that large numbers of small businesses fall through the 'information & networking cracks' as most are not members of any association or other networking organisation? Between 90-95% of businesses are not members of industry associations or other formal information networks.

One of the key aims of Wollongong Small Business Club is to target those businesses that would otherwise be out of the information/networking loop.

Your sponsorship of a Small Business Club event will enable us to continue to operate this important local service.

Sponsor organisations receive the following benefits:
  • An opportunity to publicly promote your organisation's commitment to growth of the Illawarra small business sector;
  • Direct promotion of your organisation to the Small Business Club database;
  • 15 minute sales presentation at a Small Business Club event including: Powerpoint presentation from a representative of your organisation; recognition of your sponsorship and support throughout the event; the opportunity to set up your own display stand; promotional material from your organisation displayed on all tables;
  • Prominent placement of your logo on all Small Business advertising and promotion material including emails to members; and
  • The opportunity to invite your key customers to hear your presentation at your sponsored event, to strengthen customer relations.

A one month major sponsorship of the Wollongong Small Business Club costs only $750. This charge is determined on a 'cost recovery ' basis. RDA Illawarra only seeks to recoup the majority of the venue and catering costs for each event, in order to keep the events free of charge for members.
