Strategic Infrastructure

RDA Illawarra will continue to pursue major infrastructure projects that provide the greatest positive benefit to the wider community. These projects may be currently underway, under consideration or in the early stages of development. RDA Illawarra recognises that these projects can take a considerable amount of time to develop, however we will continue to pursue these initiatives for as long as they remain a priority for the region and seek to participate in project related activities where appropriate. Such projects include the Maldon-Dombarton rail link, the Port Kembla Outer Harbour expansion, the Shell Cove Boat Harbour, upgrades to Picton Road and the rollout of the National Broadband Network.

Our RDA Illawarra Chairman, Eddy De Gabriele, will be Chairing the Sub-Committee on Major Infrastructure.  Current projects that fall within this priority include:

• Picton Road Upgrade
• Maldon Dombarton Rail Link Feasibility Study
• High Speek Rail Working Group
