Social Inclusion

RDA Illawarra will work towards the Australian Government’s policy on Social Inclusion – “a socially inclusive society is one in which all Australians feel valued and have the opportunity to participate fully in the life of our society”. We will attempt to address this through all of our initiatives and ensure, to the best of our ability, that accessibility and the opportunity to participate is far reaching. Some areas that have been highlighted include the cultural industry, sport, the community services industry and minority groups.

Our Board Members, Helen Backhouse and Annelies Voorthuis, will Co-Chair the Sub-Committee on Social Inclusion.  Current projects that fall within this priority include:
