Green Jobs

RDA Illawarra recognises the opportunity for the region to capitalise on potential new markets. This may involve piloting innovative sustainable technologies, harnessing the technical capabilities of local businesses in ‘green’ initiatives, or helping businesses become more sustainable in their operations. RDA Illawarra will support ‘green’ initiatives in general through the employment of a dedicated Green Jobs Illawarra Project Manager. This position will, over a three year period, work towards implementing and further scoping the recommendations in the NSW State Government’s Green Jobs Illawarra Action Plan. In addition to this, we will continue to pursue other innovative ways of addressing renewable energy concerns.

Our Board Member, Arthur Rorris, will be Chairing the Sub-Committee on Green Jobs.  Current projects that fall within this priority include:
